Perform skilled mechanical maintenance duties in the inspection, repair, and installation of residential heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems and related equipment; perform preventive maintenance and routine servicing of equipment.

HVAC Service Technician Job Description

Maintain and repair customers’ air quality systems. The HVAC technician will assist with repairing and calibrating systems, replacing various components such as thermostats and compressors. The technician will diagnose problems, explain problems to customers in clear, non-technical terms, relay costs to customers, and offer alternative solutions.

To ensure success in this role, the technician should possess technical aptitude, well-versed in safety precautions, detail oriented, organized and customer service oriented.

HVAC Technician Job Duties

*Cleaning, adjusting, and repairing residential HVAC systems and performing warranty services.

*Troubleshooting defective HVAC systems and equipment to make diagnoses.

*Performing preventative maintenance by cleaning coils and air handling units, monitoring, and calibrating air handling units.

*Ensuring condensation drain line is free of debris and draining properly.

*Keeping daily logs and records of maintenance functions.

HVAC Service Technician Requirements

*Graduate of HVAC technical college or vocational college program

*1+ years’ experience in residential HVAC

*Valid driver’s license and good driving record

*Proficient mechanical diagnostic skills

*Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills

*Ability to work after hours, over weekends and possible holidays.
